The Punitive Model of Parenting
The punitive model of parenting persisted worldwide and is still in much of the world till very recently. Withholding of that givenness, it didn't look like punishment, but it was maybe the most common form of punishment of all. So love is always telling a thing or a person what it is and that this is good. When you can't say that to one another, you're not helping one another grow anymore.
