The Gifts of the Magi
The magi are ethnically gentiles, that's clear from the story. This is running through the theme of t genealogy. Here we have gentiles coming from the east, bringing their gifts to god. So they're presenting their gifts to jesus. And i would say both as the messiah, but if we see him as the emanuel,. There's kind of almost a sacrificial component to it, an offering to the god of israel. May all kings fall down before him, and all nations give him service.
