We know if our vegetables are local and organic, but we don't ask what the farm workers made picking them. We're shown the carbon emissions for the flight, but we aren't told if the flight attendants were unionized. And that's actually another line I really liked from this book. Matthew Desmond: There's just so much darkness and capitalism.
