Would God Have Become Incarnate Had Man Not Sinned?

Sed Contra: A Podcast of Catholic Theology

CHAPTER

The Immaculate Conception

Scotus says that no one has been predestined only because somebody else's sin was foreseen, less than he wanted have reason to rejoice over the fall of another. The nature is not simply restored in the incarnation of Christ to its original Edenic state but it's both restored and elevated. So with Christ becoming incarnate, he does the restoring part with the redemption. And then the elevating part with the divinization.
