The average cost for a solo traveler to take a seven-day vacation in Europe right now from the US is $1,359. One of the big factors that has changed travel in Europe has been the growth of budget airlines. I think any kind of flying is going to get more expensive when carbon pricing really kicks in hard and begins to drive up the prices appreciably. Outright bans on short-distance flying are so far confined to large European states like France. For many people, they're much less stressful and much more gooable getting it around.
