Elon Musk's Brain Machine Interface
Last week Elon Musk's company Neuralink announced that it had received permission from the US FDA to begin human trials of a so-called brain machine interface. It would be the latest in a long line of attempts to allow people to work with computers and robotic limbs following certain types of paralysis or amputation. Professor Nita Farahami talking to the BBC World Services Newsday about the ambitions there. In the longer term they hope that that will enable a different way for not just people who have lost abilities to be able to interact with the rest of their environment.
