Critical Care - Is There a Negative Trial?

The universal theme for probably over 10 years now in the literature has been negative trials. We do those big studies on things that based on physiology, based on kind of initial clinical just trying things out and things that seem like they mattered. It's easy to become people call it therapeutic nihilism. Why do we even try? The only thing that matters for patients is time, luck, and like antibiotics occasionally. And you should have a good, thoughtful, skeptical eye but allow your practice to be changed when appropriate.
