The Importance of Shabbat
Shabbat is one thing, Mo'adim and Micrai Kodesh are something else. Rashi tells us it's to emphasize the holiness of the festivals. Whoever dibs secretes the festivals is as if he had desecrated the Sabbath. Vilma Gahan offers a very different explanation. According to him the word six days shall you work that the seventh day is a Sabbath of Sabbaths does not apply to days of the week. It applies todays of the year. Why? Because there are seven holy days specified in our parasha. So although we may cook and carry on festivals but if the festival happens on Shabbat we may not do
