What's the Concept of How to Deal With That Tension?
In one kind of velance, it is the fight that liberal piloical philosophers have of communiterian polices. And so if you grow up as a member of a group or fun and well, but if you want to leave that group, then the state needs to step in - even against your will. So how do liberals think through that? Well, i think one important distinction is between what sociologists call descriptive and voluntary groups. I realize that these are to some degree, socially constructed categories, but as you yourself say in your forthcoming book, there is a kind of biological basis to them.
