I feel like the understanding from kind of people who are very deep in tik tak of what starks are and how they can be used. How different components of start can be married with different compoined starks is increasing a lot. But i also do think that if we work hard enough and make those v m accessible enough, people will not even need to care about what proving system i am using. They just know that there is ee oe prove generated and an this of the properties that it has.
This week, Anna chats with Bobbin Threadbare about his project Miden, a STARK-based roll-up which was recently purchased by Polygon. We recap the differences between STARKs and SNARKs and the increasingly blurred line between these two proving systems. We then map Bobbin’s journey to Miden VM (now Polygon Miden), how it originated from his earlier project Distaff VM and now incorporates the Winterfell prover from his days at Facebook.
