Why Did We Abandon the Gold Standard?
Central banks have certainly pushed the envelope in terms of what they see as a reasonable way to store their cash and assets. I think gold at the moment is fueled by worries about the dollar and its weaponization. It'd be interesting to see if it continues, doesn't it? I imagine it will be lower in 2023, but who knows? If it goes higher again, then maybe this is a trend.
