It was illegal for the US government to release this kind of domestic propaganda, and had been since World War II ended. Even the Department of Defense had a policy against what it called a selective benefit. So you may be wondering, how on earth were they doing all this and getting away with it? If authorities won't hold them accountable, maybe film studios should be more transparent.
