The all-at-once collapsed stories where everyone is hysterical and against us are still popular. We should be concerned about illiberal, reactionary thinking in times of stress as we saw in the 1930s in Europe,. People do not become progressive, informed, fair and equitable after they go through a crisis. The blame will fall on the least powerful, the marginalized, and those unable to defend themselves.
