When the show first started in 19 63, then the guy who was playing the doctor was a very old guy. And after three years playing the role, it became very obvious that he was ill and he couldn't do it. So we they devised, because we didn't know who this charactor was, ord where he came from. In 19 six, six, they changed the actor, but made it a part of this personality. And that allows, has allowed the programme to continue to this day,. nearly 50 years later.
