Recovering From a Race

I've always found that it has far more to do with how the athlete psychologically approaches the race than anything else particularly. Some athletes have what I call a dimmer switch where they can go into a race and say you know what I'm going to temper myself a little bit in certain situations. Other athletes have an on off-site switch if there's a start line and a gun and a finish line they have no choice in their own inner psychology into treated as a 10 out of 10 a race. Those athletes need a lot more temperament and picking and choosing races that it's going to be sustainable for them throughout the course of the year.
