The Challenges That Immigrants Face

The first challenge was definitely language for me. I have to work definitely more improving my spoken and written language than the natives. So social adaptation into society was also hard. But luckily there were also a lot of international students from China when I was doing my PhD, so that was kind of a support group. In my first day, I got a help from my seniors. A senior, he picked me up from the airport and some other senior friends. They helped me in their apartment for my first few days in the US. That was really helpful. And we did the same to when I became more familiar with the environment. We want the younger generation to know that they're not alone.
