Core Inflation Is Not What You Think It Is

Core inflation is almost by definition that is which is measured by the consumer price index. When you're trying to figure out, okay, what's really going on in the economy? What's happening to prices? Then you try to weed out all of the outliers. The easiest way to visualize that is just to think that you have more dollars chasing fewer or the same number of goods. And so the value of the dollars will change depending on how many dollars are there.
