The Critic's Choice

The critic really is saying to God, you know, if I were running a universe, I could do a better job than you are. What does God do? He puts a force field in front of the world trade towers and then gently turns the plane around. Before any evil can arise, God has to turn it to good. We've abolished more than 50% of suffering in the last 50 years. A single technological invention, namely, anesthetics, has probably abolished more than half of all human suffering. It's a good thing, as it solves the world's problems.
