Hezekiah's Tunnel

King Hezekiah created a diversion channel by tunneling through the rock, under the walls of Jerusalem. This is called the Shalawak Channel or Salom, a pool of Salom. To dump this water inside the walls so that when the besieging army comes, they won't be able to cut off the water supply. In 1870, this reservoir was discovered.
