The Importance of Annotation in Deep Learning
The annotation from the human physicians was both very important but also very noisy. Getting doctors to agree on anything, even with themselves sometimes, it's really hard. So I think it was important to get not to just average all the opinions, right? This is a hard case. And so it needed additional love and care and understanding of what's going on.
