Is Now the Right Time to Retire?

For me, i'll probably stay invested for the majority of my life. I don't i don't need to be getting to 60 and going, right, convert everything to bonds. That's it. Having a large cash buffer is probably just a larger one when i get a bit older so that i can ride out a full year on that alone without touching the portfolio. But i think what i'll probably do is look at the previous year's returns and portion of that,. And then when there is a big downtown like now, i'll just have the confidence that i have 12 months in cash sat there, that i can use that instead of hammer in the portfolio when it's down.
