Mitsui - A Brief History

Mitsui itself denied any wrong doing. The company president, yammoto jo taro, no relation, initially stated that since mitzui was a business dedicated to making money, there was nothing wrong with taking a commission to make things work. In the end, nobody received anything worse than fines totaling forty five yen or probation. One admiral who retired into private industry tried to kill himself after being implicated in the scandal.
