Is There a National Real Estate Market?
There's no such thing as a national housing market in the United States. There are about 400, what they call MSAs or metropolitan areas. Cyclical markets get all the news media attention but most of the land mass is not cyclical. The other kind in contrast is a cyclical market where peaks and valleys are just extreme. Only 25% of that entire index is hybrid or linear.
