The Importance of High Specification Weld Joints in Small Modular Reactors

The pressures that you're dealing with in a pressurized water reactor for a nuclear power plant is really, really high. Some of the new small modular reactors have a much higher boiling point and they don't have to have any pressure at all. And so all of a sudden your weld joints are no longer such an issue. But we've just lost the skill and the ability to be able to do some of the more complicated installation procedures on these nuclear plants.
