The Paradox of Political Identity
What's foundational is the desire for meaning and self-interest in the verticalness, i.e. doing well for myself. So what we have to do strategically is look deeper at how we can provide meaning which will provide people with a different pathway to social action. And then underlying this proposition is the paradox of political identity. The very mechanism of success, setting up all this infrastructure of identity, basically is our own worst enemy, because it brings it back down.
