I feel like the level you're arguing at now is at a much deeper level than I have understanding of the Chapman stuff such that I could actually, I don't think I can offer critiques of this at the same level of detail. The concept of truth as a regulative principle is much more useful in its vagueness than any correspondence, theoretic description or account of how truth relates to how our statements can be true.
