The War Between the Persians and the Greeks
Darius respected the customs of the Ionian Greeks, and he didn't seem to hold any ill will against them. It's quite possible that this relationship may have quenched his desire for further conquest. The almost lack of information on the political happenings in Greece from 505 to 500 BC might suggest maybe Klicenees and the Alkmeonidae had knee-dies. Regardless, serious problems would arise at the turn of this century, and Athens would continue to find itself in hot water with the Persians until finally war was inevitable.
