"I like Hitchcock at his most powerful," he says. "By the time you get to Full Metal Jacket and Eyes Wide Shut, I really love those movies." Kubrick views an actor as a true collaborator in these films, unlike some of his other work. The director's last three movies are more successful because they fit with this tightly wound ultra controlling artist.
