The Spirit of Creativity Is a Manifestation of the Self
When we're doing something creative, we often achieve that state of flow, where we just feel like we are in right relationship with the self as it were. I think every great religious leader, we talk about Jesus bringing forward a new way of imagining deity or imagining how humanity would relate to it was considered a massive transgressor and had to be killed. But even now, art is considered transgressive and dangerous in very regulated cultures. In some countries right now to create a cartoon of a political leader can land you in jail as being disrespectful. Also people who publish books that have radical ideas compared to the cultural norm, again, are often considered dangerous.
