When you're facing a bully at work and you're trying to advocate for yourself, they are. And so i will ask questions and clarify to give myself time. If somebody has said or done something offensive, and my blood pressure has risen to a boiling point, i say, oh, you know, the quami of this very moment is not emotionally equipped to respond in a way that is sensible. That is just one of the many benefits of clarification. But again, clarification has loto a lot of benefits, and just slowing down the conversation through clarification is one of them.
