Two years ago, before people i mostly admire even isted, i became obsessed with the amazon rain forest. I'd never given much thought to it until recent wildfires in brazil. The economics of the amazon are barely discussed in the public debate. As i soon came to realize, that's a huge mistake. On this episode, we will explore the simple economics fueling one of the world's most dangerous ecological disasters. It is a great example of a marked failure.
