The Importance of Having a Road Named After Someone

Major Deacon is a good example of sort of mediocrity, which maybe that's not quite fair. He did useful jobs and he probably did them pretty well. But when you think about a road being named for somebody, you think like I always assumed that Major Deacon was a war hero or that he died in battle. And in fact, he spent his entire career in the Army here in New York building fortifications around NYC. It's hardly the stuff of legend.
