The Stones were covering Chuck Berry has on their debut single Come On. They also covered Buddy Holly with a bow-didly beat as on their early 64 single Not Fade Away. Each of these singles would be gradually bigger British hits for the Stones. As exciting as all this beat music was in England, through the end of 1963, none of these songs were appearing on Billboard's Hot 100.
