I am a citizen of the cherokee nation, and my grandma grew up in rural oklahoma. She went to india boarding school at shalaco indian school. And so that is kind of step one of the the disconnection there. My family's allotment land was given to us during the daws act. Um, and they were flooded out by the army corps of engineers who damned a river into a lake. So she had a hundred dollars that she had saved up, and she bought a bus ticket, and she took the bus all the way to los angeles,. They got married, im and were married for 65 years; ha a three kids.
