There were rumors that Russians are preparing a land operation in Odessa region. So Anzmini or Serpen island was very important for them to ensure recognition, to ensure intelligence and to ensure some other things. And they discount attack which is still prepared, it will maybe take weeks or maybe even months to start. But it was extremely important for Ukrainian army to liberate this strategic point for Ashunami. It is also a question of eventual deblocking the Black Sea.
