Ethereum Block Chain - The Merge Changes Everything

Etherium has switched its operating system from proof of work to something called proof of stake. The merge is a huge engineering feat that's been described as like switching the foundations of a skyscraper without the building falling. So will bitcoin, the biggest crypto coin of them all, that requires even more electricity now, follows suit? It seems highly unlikely. Bitcoin doesn't have a central foundation or organizing group, so pulling off a move like this would be very difficult. But with some countries like china banning crypto mining and regulators elsewhere looking for new ways to cut energy costs, the industry may be forced to find greener energy sources rapidly.
