During the second half of the nineteenth century, the port at cardi became britain's busiest and most important. The volume of coal that went out through cardiff would have been enough to fill the millennium stadium in cardiff up to the roof 19 times. There was a very cosmopolitan community developed an cardif. People had come from all over the world to work ships, or ships bring people from everywhere. But like everything else, the boom came to an end when germany flooded the market with cheap coal after first world war.
