What Are the Consequences of Editing Up a Certain Part of the Genum?

The human genome is immense. It has more than three billion base pairs, if if i remember correctly. We understand less than less than five % of the genum. And yet, it can't be the case that it does nothing. Nature is persimonious. Evolution does. You will not have genes that are not useful. So i think it's very dangerous start thinking that we can play god.
