Is There a Scientific Sexism in Science?
In a recent survey, 64% of women surveyed said they had experienced sexual harassment in the field while doing scientific research. A study by Harvard Business School found that biomedical patents filed between 1976 and 2010 were 35% more likely than all male teams to focus on women's health. "You can kind of tell what bodies are valued or seen as valid by who gets real medical treatment," she says.
