The Importance of What Parents Say
Study by parsons and al in 19 82 shows importance of what parents say. A child's opinion of their own ability was heavily, heavily shaped by what their parents said. They take what their parents say much more than what we say as teachers. Teachers need to make sure they are using the correct type of language that we want them to use. To try and break that, we need to have these bits of research.
