AI Take Off Speeds: A Comparison
Take off speeds is a time duration where people are asking like, how long does it take to go from A to B? And then we already start getting to the weeds. We could have two people with the same AI timelines say that they predict AGI by 2050 but different AI take off speed predictions. Is there anything to learn from studying compute specifically about take off speeds? I'm thinking for example, this is just my uneducated guess that if we know something about the compute, how compute is produced and how much compute is available this puts an limit to how fast a take off we could have.
