There was once a time when all of North America was a great green wilderness. The wonders of wildlife were the great Disney series. They started hearing and learning about the plight of a whole range of species. It created the political will across party lines that began having conversations with what became Endangered Species Act.
The Endangered Species Act was transformative in protecting animals from extinction. Vox’s Benji Jones says its proposed successor, the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act, would be the most significant conservation law in decades.
