The Importance of Preparation
Traders and trading firms have trouble tolerating drawdown. They find themselves unable to fully participate in that trend because the trend always involves some degree of retrace growth. And so what happens, ironically, is that people who will talk in terms of trend end up trading in a way that looks more mean-reverting,. As a result, their participation in any trend that manifests is suboptimal.
