The Culture War of the Moment

The culture war of the moment is right wing, anti critical race theory politics. How does an issue get made into a culture war issue? And then more specifically, in terms of the past two years or so, am i right that the pace at which right wing culture ware mutates has just acceleratedReally rapidly since the beginning of the pandemic.
