Palsanias is killed in the aftermath of Philip II's assassination. His death has led to speculation that he was helped by Olympia, mother of Alexander the Great. She would have motive because it would secure Alexander as the successor. Palsanias also had a love story with Attilis - who raped him after being shunned by other elite Macedonian figures at their wedding feast.
