The End of World War II
After World War II, a transatlantic peace was created and remains under American auspices. The United Nations Charter of 1945 says war is off the table unless it's defensive or the UN sanctions it. And at Nuremberg starting the same year as the UN Charter and going into the next one, 1945, they say the worst crime is starting an aggressive war.
