The Importance of Specificity in Training

The performance is more related to your peripheral. You don't actually have to do that much to keep your VO2 max. It doesn't change that much once it's up already. So I mean, I had a mental map. If you were designing the training program for an athlete, it's like, what are the demands of the event from a physiological perspective? And maybe they should pick a different event because they would be more successful at something else. But if you don't exit from the circle, you just keep coming back to the same question. The big picture that the keys to training are the big factors specificity, overload, progression, reversibility, etc.
