The Fall of General Omar Al-Bashir

General Omar Al-Bashir was an autocrat who'd been in power in Sudan for nearly 30 years. He presided over several civil conflicts that erupted first in the south of Sudan, then in Darfur region. Bashir's reign really ran out of steam when those protests that you mentioned took place in 2019. And tens of thousands of people effectively demanded his ouster.
