The Fed's Watching Real Rates
The yield curve contraction right now presents a huge challenge for the Fed to reserve. The more they lean into hawkish talk, the more people buy longer-term treasuries which ease financial conditions. I think that ultimately what ends up happening is the Fed's watching real rates as much as anything else. And eventually we'll see a more significant pullback in risk assets and equities.
