The Iran Hostage Rescue Mission
The Iran hostage rescue mission takes place in April of 1980. The hostages have been there for five months and Americans are getting very frustrated that Carter's diplomacy is not bringing them back. Just two helicopters malfunction, part because of the sand and the desert so they're too short of helicopters. And then they abort the mission, which was very disappointing for Carter and the Americans.
